With our newly established 501(c)(3) Charitable Foundation, we are proud to announce our first partnership is with San Antonio Food Bank – to play our part in helping combat the alarming growth of food insecurity that has continued to cultivate during these troubling times in our community. With this partnership, we have agreed to contribute funds to the operational expenses related Grocery Rescue Program, truck expense, and the various programs the Food Bank run. We recognize the hard work it takes to distribute over 12,000 pounds of food per week, or 624,000 pounds of food each year, and wish that our partnership will support in getting the acquired food from contributors to the people in need in the 16 counties the Food Bank services.

In our early stages of research of potential partnerships opportunities, the Sarma Charitable Foundation team found it difficult to look no further than the San Antonio Food Bank. With this financial contribution, it converts to 700,000 meals and can help serve the over 120,000 individuals now in need as a result to the pandemic. Not only are we able to see the immediate impact our partnership will do to our community, we also have the ability to give our Sarma employees endless volunteering opportunities within the Food Bank. From helping in the sorting of food too giving our time during the mega distribution events. We are excited to partner with the Food Bank because we know the good work they are doing for our community and this is our way of being able to support that continued work. We are just doing our part in the community in response to the need for more to be done.

With the Holiday Season fast approaching, today we were able to coordinate our “First Give” to the San Antonio Food Bank and had the pleasure of speaking with Eric Cooper, President and CEO of SAFB, we thanked him for his tremendous work he has done with the Food Bank and our community. He emphasized the need that our contribution and partnership will support and how humbling it is to have SAFB as our “First Give” for our Foundation. Not only was this an exciting event for our team, but it is only the start of the endless possibilities we are able to be a part of within our community.

On behalf of the Sarma Charitable Foundation, wanted to end this year with the spirit of giving and look forward to what is to come in the New Year- building relationships within our community and working together to help one another.
