Password Changes Related to Heartbleed

Passwords related to personal activity also need to be changed. Only change passwords after you have confirmation from services that they are patched, otherwise you can have your new password compromised as well.

This is relevant to your services with Sarma because many people use the same password for many activities. So if you use the same password for your bank access, Pinterest and Sarma Data Systems, all of them are at risk.

New reports are being posted continually on services that are patched. Some key ones of note include Google (and Gmail), Yahoo (and Yahoo Mail), Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr, Etsy, GoDaddy, Intuit, USAA, Box, Dropbox, GitHub, IFTTT, Minecraft, OKCupid, SoundCloud and Wunderlist. As more companies create patches to Heartbleed, this list will likely grow. Always check directly with services you use rather than take the word of others. This is not official advice concerning nonSarma services.

Sarma services patched or confirmed not vulnerable:

  • Mortgage
  • Sarma Data Systems
  • Collections placements
  • Employment screening
  • Tenant screening
